“IWOC2”, Napoli inedita e mostri da cucinare per il secondo capitolo della saga fantasy

Dalla melodia a Gomorra, dalla sceneggiata ai fumetti: è difficile trovare una narrazione di Napoli che non sia mai stata sfiorata, in qualche modo, da ogni tipo di strumento o genere.

Ci riesce però, a distanza di 600 chilometri circa, il genovese Marco Cardone con un fantasy che racconta, tra ironia e mistero, la napoletanità in ogni sua sfumatura.

La sfida è tutta nel libro “Italian Way of cooking – pizza, mostri e mandolino”, secondo appuntamento della saga del monsterchef Nero Bonelli edito da Acheron Books.

Un viaggio mistico, divertente e frenetico tra mostri, credenze popolari e ricette segrete dai pericolosi effetti collaterali, che racconta e mescola il folklore, la cultura, la lingua e la passione, i colori e i sapori del capoluogo partenopeo.

Cardone, classe 1976, con questo nuovo romanzo esalta la vena umoristica del precedente intrecciando sapientemente il dialetto toscano e napoletano, con un risultato sorprendente. Nel dedalo di vicoli e stradine del centro storico di Napoli, lo “chef acchiappamostri” toscano Nero e il suo socio Mirco si apprestano a preparare un singolare banchetto nuziale, ma ben presto si ritroveranno alle prese con nuovi nemici, famelici mostri e boss della camorra.

È una storia d’ambientazione partenopea piena di elementi surreali che convivono con la realtà, fra misteri, sparatorie, piatti tipici, spiriti campani, amanti gelose, cantanti neomelodici e caccia a orrori senza tempo, in una sagace commistione fra le sfumature del noir e del giallo.

“Italian Way of cooking – pizza, mostri e mandolino” è anche “un atto d’amore verso la città di Napoli”, spiega l’autore. “Avrei potuto – racconta – ambientare il secondo capitolo di IWOC a Milano, città dove il mio pubblico è maggiormente radicato, con la speranza di vendere di più. Non l’ho fatto: amo Napoli e questo romanzo vuole essere anche un mio personale tributo a un luogo del cuore”.

Il libro è il seguito di “Italian Way of Cooking”, finalista del Premio Carver Italiano, sempre edito da Acheron, e ne riprende la trama, segnando una ulteriore maturità del Cardone Scrittore.
