La questione Kashmir sbarca a Napoli al Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani con Iffat Fatima

Il Kashmir è teatro di una delle crisi più prolungate dell’Asia meridionale. Conteso tra India e Pakistan, di fatto diviso tra i due Stati, è una polveriera troppo spesso dimenticata dal mondo occidentale. Così come lo sono i suoi desaparecidos, del tutto simili a quelli argentini: persone scomparse nel nulla, volatilizzate, tenuti ancora in vita nel ricordo dall’APDP, un collettivo di familiari delle vittime delle sparizioni forzate che si adoperano per ottenere informazioni sulle circostanze in cui sono scomparsi i propri parenti.

Iffat Fatima è eccellente e coraggiosa testimone di quanto accade in quella parte quasi dimenticata di mondo. Documentarista film-maker indipendente e ricercatrice, da anni con le sue opere cerca di portare alla luce quanto accade nel Kashmir. Sarà lei l’ospite straordinaria del terzo giorno di Festival del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli.

Domani 29 novembre 2018, alle 10.00, nell’Antisala dei Baroni del Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino), si terrà “La voce del Kashmir che resiste”, in cui l’attivista indiana dialogherà con Lia Cacciottoli, componente del direttivo del Festival, la delegata alle Pari Opportunità del Comune di Napoli Simona Marino, la docente universitaria Teresa Boccia ed Eleonora Fanari, la giovane ricercatrice che ha portato la Fatima a Napoli.

Nel pomeriggio, alle 17.30 nello Spazio Comunale Piazza Forcella (via Vicaria Vecchia 23), si terrà invece la proiezione di “Blood leaves its trail” (India, 2015, 90’) realizzato da Iffat Fatima. Il giovane fotografo romano Camilo Pasquarelli sarà testimone della sua esperienza in Kashmir con uno slideshow di foto che saranno proiettate in sala.

Seguiranno le proiezioni dei film in concorso.

FESTIVAL, GLI ALTRI APPUNTAMENTI

L’incontro con Iffat Fatima segue quelli dei primi due giorni di festival, dove ospite d’eccezione è stato il regista australiano David Fedele. Appuntamento principale quello del 1 dicembre dedicato a Emergency e che porterà a Napoli il fondatore della Ong Gino Strada. Nei prossimi giorni in città per il Festival, arrivato alla X edizione e organizzato in sinergia con l’Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Napoli, ci saranno anche altre personalità del calibro di Maria Elena Benites, Ivan Grozny Compasso, Gabriele del Grande, Alex Zanotelli, la UNDP officer Hala Ritzk, Simon Safieh. Nelle serate del weekend, sempre nello Spazio Comunale Piazza Forcella, previsti inoltre due live musicali di alto spessore: il primo, sabato 1 dicembre, vedrà protagonista Maurizio Capone, mentre il 2 dicembre sarà la volta di Maldestro.
