Con una conferenza stampa nelle storiche sale del Gran Caffé Gambrinus, a un passo dalla splendida Piazza del Plebiscito, in una bella giornata di sole l’annuncio: il Christian Expo 2019 si terrà il prossimo luglio, il 19 e 20, al Teatro Palapartenope. Si tratta di uno degli appuntamenti più importanti e corali al sud Italia e in Italia in generale che vede protagonista la comunità evangelica.

La presentazione del nuovo Christian Expo arriva a margine di una conferenza in cui si traccia il bilancio – positivo – del Christian Expo 2017.

Alessandro Iovino, tra gli organizzatori dell’evento, spiega: “A distanza di un anno dalla prima edizione, abbiamo presentato un bilancio ma sopratutto abbiamo lanciato la seconda edizione del Christian Expo. Questo evento non a caso cade proprio nel 2017, anno delle celebrazioni dei 500 anni della Riforma Protestante. Ci sarà modo di riflettere, anche all’interno dell’Expo, sulla natura storica e teologica di quello che fu uno dei più grandi avvenimenti della storia moderna. Ciò che ha sempre caratterizzato (o per lo meno dovrebbe) tutte le denominazioni Protestanti scaturite dalla Riforma del 16° secolo, il fine su cui esse hanno fondato la loro storia e tracciato fin ora il loro cammino, è l’accettazione dell’intera Bibbia come Parola ispirata da Dio e, quindi, unica e vera guida per la condotta dei credenti e la salvaguardia della sana dottrina.

“Date queste premesse – continua Iovino – hanno inteso di rimanere fedeli all’insegnamento: ‘…perché voi tutti siete uno in Cristo Gesù’ (Galati 3:28). Nella Sacra Bibbia è evidente un forte impulso ed un richiamo all’unità dei Cristiani in Cristo Gesù. Naturalmente, questa unità non può essere raggiunta a discapito della fede in Cristo Gesù, unico Salvatore e Signore. Nelle lettere dell’apostolo Paolo, il richiamo all’unità è costante: ‘… uniti nell’amore…’ (Colossesi 2:2); ed ancora ‘vi esorto… a stare perfettamente uniti’ (I Corinzi 1:10) ‘… sforzandovi di conservare l’unità dello Spirito…’ (Efesini 4:3). Nella speranza che ‘… tutti giungiamo all’unità della fede e della piena conoscenza del Figlio di Dio… all’altezza della statura perfetta di Cristo…’ (Efesini 4:13).

“Ma per un attimo – conclude Iovino – voglio chiedervi uno sforzo d’immaginazione. Provate a fare un salto nella storia, di 500 anni. Immaginate di vestire i panni di Lutero. Immaginatevelo, con le sue 95 tesi, con tutto il carico delle sue umane imperfezioni, decidere di sfidare tutte le più forti convenzioni religiose di quel tempo, andare oltre ogni resistenza ecclesiale ed avere il ‘coraggio di osare’. Per onorare Dio e la Verità. Oggi, a distanza di 500 anni, la Chiesa del Signore, in Italia e nel mondo, è chiamata ad equipaggiarsi dello stesso coraggio. Il coraggio di Dio”.
